Topic of Discussion
For our colloquium, you are to suggest an addition to those women (or men) represented in Christine de Pizan’s Book of the City of Ladies. Chose one of the topics she addresses, for example, refuting the claim that educating women is bad, and provide an example that could enter the city. The examples can be from the other texts we have read this year, for example, Beatrice from the Vita Nuova and Divine Comedy or anyone you wish to include as an example who has lived since the death of Christine de Pizan, probably sometime around 1430 CE. Discuss your addition in your project notebook and be prepared to share your addition to the other members of the section during colloquium.
