Topic of Discussion
As our semester comes to an end, we are, in a way, back at the beginning (approximately two millennia later give or take a few centuries): forces from Europe besiege and sack another city in Asia. Be prepared to share with the other members of the colloquium three ways in which the Trojan War and the First Crusade were similar and three ways in which they differed. Support your observations with references to the texts we have studied such as the Iliad, Iphigenia at Aulis, Trojan Women, and the Aeneid.
